Harrismith Mountain Race

A historic South African event famously dubbed "the toughest in the world." Participants tackle the steep slopes of the Platberg Mountain in the Free State, starting and finishing at Harrismith Primary School. The race offers three distances to cater to different fitness levels: a grueling 30km Trail Run, the classic 15km Mountain Race, and a 10km Mini Mountain trail. Organized by the Harrismith Marathon Club, this event is a highlight for the local community and trail running enthusiasts, combining high-altitude challenge with scenic mountain views.
