Houtkapper Trail Run

The 2026 Houtkapper Trail Run will take place Sunday, 5 July 2026 from 08h30 at the Quinta Da Montanha in Rheenendal, Western Cape. Distances available include 27km, 15km and 9km races. This trail run offers 3 routes of varying lengths and difficulty. Taking runners through the forests made famous by Daleen Mathee (the late authoress of Circles in the forest, Fielas child, Moerbeibos and others), runners will pass through Krisjan-se-nek (where Daleen Mathees ashes were scattered), the Daleen Mathee memorial and the site of the 880 year old Yellowwood tree known as the Daleen Mathee Big Tree.
